In Internal Audit, we ensure that Goldman Sachs maintains effective controls by assessing the reliability of financial reports, monitoring the firm’s compliance with laws and regulations, and advising management on developing smart control solutions. Our group has unique insight on the financial industry and its products and operations. As the third line of defense, Internal Audit’s mission is to independently assess the firm’s internal control structure, including the firm’s governance processes and controls, and risk management and capital and anti-financial crime frameworks, raise awareness of control risk and monitor the implementation of management’s control measures. In doing so, Internal Audit:
1. Communicates and reports on the effectiveness of the firm’s governance, risk management and controls that mitigate current and evolving risk
2. Raise awareness of control risk
3. Assesses the firm’s control culture and conduct risks;
4. Monitors management’s implementation of control measures
Goldman Sachs Internal Audit comprises individuals from diverse backgrounds including chartered accountants, developers, risk management professionals, cybersecurity professionals, and data scientists. We are organized into global teams comprising business and technology auditors to cover all the firm’s businesses and functions, including global banking and markets, asset and wealth management, risk management, finance, cyber-security and technology risk, and engineering.

As a Business Auditor, you will be involved in audits of various processes that support the Global Banking & Markets – Private business of the firm to provide assurance on the controls including transaction due diligence, marketing reviews, book building, allocations, operations, managerial oversight, etc., along with other general business controls such as Sarbanes-Oxley 404 control assessments and other processes that support functions of GBM private.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will participate in planning and scoping reviews, meet with stakeholders within the area being reviewed to understand and walk through the business and technology processes, and identify the key risks and controls to be assessed. They will also assess the risk and impact of the issues identified on reviews and produce reports to management. As well as ad hoc work on firmwide projects around new processes, activities and investigations, they will maintain internal stakeholder relationships. This involves regular interaction with the business to assess changes in which may influence the coverage scope and audit plan. Ongoing liaison will also include colleagues globally and internal and external stakeholders including regulators and external audit. Additionally, they will assess the adequacy of the design and operating effectiveness of the controls to mitigate the key risks identified.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
12. 1-3 years of prior experience in a public accounting or internal audit role within the financial services industry or a related control functions
13. Prior experience in auditing business processes within Global Banking & Markets advisory, financing and risk management, Investment Banking, and Investment Research
14. Relevant certification or industry accreditation (., IIA, CFA, CIA, ACA)
15. Experience with Agile Auditing and Data Analytics
