Overview
FULL AND PART TIME HOURS AVAILABLE On Ward D1 you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team made up of 8 Gastroenterology Consultants, a specialist dietician and pharmacist, and a team of nutrition nurse specialists who work closely with the gastroenterology team. D1 is a 25 bedded acute ward. There is ward based training and the clinical director of gastroenterology is supportive of SIMS training. A supportive induction is provided and all competencies and training are offered to help you be the best nurse you can be.
Responsibilities
* Provide high standards of care on a busy 25 bedded acute gastroenterology ward (Ward D1).
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and communicate effectively with colleagues.
* Care for patients with NG tubes (NGs), PEG tubes and PICC lines.
* Perform venepuncture and cannulation (training available).
* Supervise and support healthcare assistants and work well within a team.
* Care for acutely unwell patients and participate in ongoing education and learning.
* Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and district / trust values.
* Provide care delivery that meets professional standards and maintain excellent written documentation.
* Engage in professional development and take advantage of opportunities to study at degree/master level modules related to Gastroenterology.

* Ability to communicate well with the MDT.
* Excellent standard of written documentation.
* Willingness to participate in further education and learning.
* Be supportive of ward induction and training; be prepared to undertake additional training as needed.
