About Ruach Tech
Ruach Tech is an innovation-driven engineering and research company exploring advanced AI systems inspired by biological intelligence, autonomic regulation, and embodied cognition. We investigate foundational questions at the intersection of AI, neuroscience, complex systems, and cognitive architectures, with a focus on developing safe, adaptive, self-regulating artificial general intelligence.
We are currently expanding a small research cohort to support the refinement of our flagship paper:
The Autopoietic Agent: A Blueprint for a Self-Sufficient Artificial General Intelligence.
This work proposes a new AGI architecture grounded in biological homeostasis, interoception, metabolic regulation, and layered threat response.
Role Overview
We are looking for passionate volunteer researchers, early-career scientists, and technical contributors who want to work on ground-breaking AGI theory. You will help strengthen the scientific foundations of the paper, perform literature reviews, assist in modelling concepts, and help prepare the work for formal publication and conference submission.
This is ideal for candidates seeking:
* Research experience in cutting-edge AGI architectures
* Exposure to computational neuroscience, homeostatic AI, and multi-objective alignment
* Opportunities to co-author future publications or technical reports
* Collaboration within a serious research-focused environment
Responsibilities
Conduct deep literature reviews in domains such as:
* Neuroplasticity, HPA axis modelling, metabolic regulation
* Homeostatic and bounded-objective AI
* Interoceptive inference and predictive coding
* Embodied cognition, bio-inspired architectures, nociception models
* Strengthen citations, cross-validate scientific claims, and propose improvements to the paper
* Draft or refine sections of research writing, diagrams, and conceptual models
* Assist in building computational analogies of biological systems
* Explore simulation approaches for interoceptive control, resource regulation, and self-preservation
* Participate in research discussions and propose new directions or clarifications
Preferred Background
Candidates from any of the following backgrounds will excel:
* Computational Neuroscience
* Cognitive Science / Psychology (computational focus)
* Machine Learning / Deep Learning
* AI Safety / Alignment research
* Robotics & Embodied AI
* Systems Biology or Bioengineering
* Complex Systems, Cybernetics, or Control Theory
Technical Skills (any subset is welcome)
* Machine learning fundamentals (PyTorch, TensorFlow or equivalent)
* Understanding of reinforcement learning or predictive processing
* Familiarity with neural computation, synaptic plasticity, or HPA axis models
* Ability to interpret biological research papers
* Experience with academic writing and referencing
* Optional but valuable: systems modelling, simulation, or causal inference
