About the Role
The Procurement function is key to the delivery of SPT customer services and is structured in a way which allows the best professional service possible to be delivered. This applies equally to both internal customers and external stakeholders.
We have an opportunity for a staff member to join our Procurement team as an Assistant Procurement Officer on a full-time temporary basis. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the sourcing of goods and services using existing Contracts, Frameworks and in particular Dynamic Purchasing Systems and the maintenance of all associated records. The post holder will in addition be expected to procure lower value commodities using the organisations systems and processes and in accordance with Standing Orders. The key responsibilities of the role are set out in the role description and include:
1. To procure goods and services from existing contractual arrangements using approved routes and tendering tools.
2. To work as part of a small but very experienced and motivated team to ensure that the needs of the organisation and its collaborative partners are met.
3. To process and to ensure all transactions fall within SPT’s Standing Orders relating to contracts as well as complying with all relevant legislation.
4. To collate, analyse and report on procurement and transactional related information.
About you
Experience working in a public sector procurement or linked role is desirable as well as a good working knowledge of Scottish public sector procurement systems, in particular PCS-T and PCS. The ideal candidate will have a good standard of education and will demonstrate a willingness to learn. You must have great attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills, be customer-focused and able to demonstrate an ability to produce accurate high volume work to strict deadlines.
You must also have excellent computer skills, with a working knowledge of MS Office specifically Excel & Word.
Full time hours will be 35 hours per week working Monday to Friday. The nature of this role may require you to work outwith normal office hours on occasion to support the operational requirements.
You will be based at 131 St Vincent Street, Glasgow. Travel to other SPT locations will be required. SPT is currently operating a hybrid working scheme which allows 40% home working.
