The MRC Pharmacy team would love to hear from Technicians who would like to be part of a supportive team in this exciting and important role.
In the heart of Buckinghamshire countryside, the Trust is located conveniently close to London and Oxford. We provide services to three main sites, Wycombe, Amersham and Stoke Mandeville. As part of the MRC team, you will provide data and analytic support for the MRC and wider pharmacy team, support the maintenance and development of the Buckinghamshire medicines formulary and the provision of the Medicines Information service. You will work as part of the wider Pharmacy team to support and develop the pharmacy provision, maximising efficiency and provide excellent patient care.
We will support you to undertake the UKMi Medicines Information and Advice Training Programme accreditation and additionally, there is the opportunity to undertake the Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification.
Main duties of the job
1. To develop, maintain and monitor the Bucks Formulary on the NetFormulary platform
2. To liaise with stakeholders across the ICS to ensure the timely implementation of formulary changes
3. To develop and maintain databases / spreadsheets of key information which supports effective formulary delivery
4. To liaise with key stakeholders to oversee the implementation of formulary changes
5. To support formulary processes: Prepare regular newsletter/communication of formulary changesAssist in the preparation of agenda, paper distribution, minutes and record of decisions made at the Medicines Value Group meetingAttend meetings and take formal minutes where necessaryAdditional tasks as required for Bucks place with regard to the ICS Area Prescribing Committee
6. To provide support and undertake administrative tasks relating to implementation of NICE guidance
7. To update and maintain the National Immunoglobulin database
8. To work closely with the Pharmacy Business support team

Qualifications
Essential criteria
9. NVQ level 3 or Apprenticeship in Pharmacy Services
10. Registered with GPHC
Desirable criteria
11. Advanced /intermediate software training and IT skills e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint., Access
12. Knowledge of JAC
13. Good customer relation skills
Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
14. Skilled in computer keyboard and applications
15. At least two years post qualification experience
Desirable criteria
16. Working in a busy and constantly changing environment /organisation
17. Training other Pharmacy Staff
18. Good verbal and written communication, including by telephone
19. Able to manage and prioritise own workload
20. Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure
21. Good problem-solving skills
22. Previous Hospital Pharmacy Experience
