Job Title: Deputy Support ManagerLocation: Burnley - Lancashire Contract: Temporary to cover 9 Months Maternity Leave Hours: Full time 39 hours per week Salary: Up to £29,.83, increasing to £30,.62 on the 1st of July Annual Leave entitlement: 33 days inclusive of bank holidays Additional Information: Driver required Ref: Empower People. Inspire Teams. Lead with Purpose At Thera North, we believe people with a learning disability should be leaders in society. We are looking for a Deputy Support Manager to assist the Support Manager in leading teams, to deliver person-centered support that meets regulatory, contractual, and organisational requirements. As a Deputy Support Manager you will mentor teams, coach support staff and drive continuous improvement. You will ensure that practice leadership is developed, recognised and reflected in all we do as you work on shift as part of the working rota enabling you to act as a role model of best practice. You will support people to design their support plans, assist with rota management, help maintain records, address concerns, conduct audits, and deputise for the Support Manager when needed. At all times aim to empower individuals, promote inclusion, rights & independence, whilst adhering to policies and acting as an ambassador for the company Theras Vision
1. Thera will show that people with a learning disability can be leaders in society.
2. Thera will be controlled by people with a learning disability.
3. People supported by Thera can say how their Thera company is directed and managed.
4. People with a learning disability will design the support they want from Thera.
5. Thera will respect the rights and wishes of people at work, at home and in the community.
6. People with a learning disability will check the quality of support from their Thera company.
7. Thera Group will be led by a charity
Skills & Experience
8. Relevant Health and Social Care qualification at Level 3 or above (England) or SCQF 7 or above (Scotland).
9. Proven experience supporting people with learning disabilities.
10. Leadership or coaching experience is desirable.
11. Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and care regulations.
12. Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
13. Confidence in using digital systems (e.g. Excel, care planning software).
14. Flexible working hours, willingness to travel locally and work across multiple locations.
