The Governors of St Lawrence are seeking a strategic and visionary leader to build on the exciting developments that the school has achieved to date. Our former Headteacher stepped down in the summer and we are looking to appoint someone who demonstrates that they have the leadership, teaching experience and values to take the school forward in excellence.
St Lawrence is an attractive three form entry Church of England Primary School, situated in the heart of the village, with 591 pupils on the roll. The school has excellent modern facilities, extensive grounds and a covered swimming pool. It has a full complement of experienced and committed staff, with an effective SLT, supportive Governing Body and an active PTA. Rated Good by Ofsted on its last visit in 2021, the children consistently outperform county and national averages in SATs. It was the first primary school in the Diocese to become an academy in 2013 and remains a stand-alone academy today.
The Governors are looking for an inspirational leader who is passionate about teaching and learning and will strive to provide the best education possible for our children and continue to take the school forward into its next phase, seeking to be exemplary in all areas.
