We’re recruiting on behalf of a local client for a hands‑on HGV Workshop Supervisor to oversee a small busy technical team. The role is not a pure desk job; candidates will be working on the tools as required.
Responsibilities
* Lead, support, and motivate a team of Technicians and Fitters.
* Carry out hands‑on maintenance, servicing, and repair of HGVs.
* Ensure all vehicles are maintained to DVSA standards and operators’ licence requirements.
* Allocate workloads, monitor productivity, and support technical queries.
* Maintain accurate workshop records and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
* Support the implementation of continuous improvement across the workshop.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as an HGV Technician with some supervisory or shift‑leading experience.
* Intermediate IT skills and in‑depth knowledge of workshop safety, DVSA standards, and fleet maintenance.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
