Overview
Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant in the Respiratory Medicine Department at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful, motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join the team based at Leighton Hospital in Crewe. This post covers inpatients, outpatients, Bronchoscopy and EBUS and is for a fixed term period until 31.08.2026 due to parental leave.
Department and Role Context
The medical element of the Division consists of seven acute wards, including a Short Stay Unit, a fully equipped Coronary Care Unit, a dedicated Acute Stroke Unit and Stroke Rehabilitation ward and a Speciality Frailty Service. The Division also has an Acute Medical Unit, an Ambulatory Care Unit, a Planned Investigation Unit, and a further 24 low dependency rehabilitation beds at Leighton Hospital. The Emergency Department resides within the Division. Non-invasive ventilation is provided in the Emergency Department, the Respiratory ward and on the Critical Care Unit, as required. The Trust is an accredited Trauma Unit and is part of the North West Midlands and North Wales Trauma Network, working closely with the designated Trauma Centre at Royal Stoke University Hospital. There are strong links with Royal Stoke University Hospital to provide hyper-acute stroke care, early in-patient angiography, coronary intervention and pacemaker implantation.
Responsibilities
* Cover inpatients, outpatients, Bronchoscopy and EBUS.
Qualifications and Registration
* Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a Licence to Practise.
* On the Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Respiratory Medicine.
