About the Role
The Newcastle CMHT Team are looking to recruit a Band 6 OT although we will accept applications from newly qualified OT's looking to develop their skills and work towards a Band 6 Occupational Therapist.
Key Responsibilities
* Under the direction of the Team Lead/Clinical Lead be accountable and responsible for a defined clinical caseload.
* Complete evidence based functional assessments of a person's behaviour/performance in partnership with the service user and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Following appropriate assessment, develop person centred care plans to enable the proactive management of presenting behaviour/need.
* Communicate complicated or highly sensitive information such as diagnosis and care plans to service users and families in a way that allows them to fully understand what is required.
* Provide assessment, training and advice on lifestyle changes and adaptations to the client's physical and social environment for the client and carers.
* Undertake a variety of Occupational Therapy and generic assessments to assist in the identification of person-centred support needs and intervention.
* Plan, organise and supervise implementation of a diverse and extensive range of treatment aimed at enabling clients to achieve their maximum potential in activities of daily living.
* Provide a wide range of therapeutic interventions ensuring evidence-based practice according to the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines to achieve therapeutic goals.
* Undertake client assessments, including those with complex needs and signpost/refer appropriately within the Trust and to external agencies. To complete assessments and interventions which will contribute to the multi-disciplinary team with a focus on the promotion of function, adaptation, occupational performance and quality of life.
