Job Description
At Valeo Foods UK, our sites operate at pace, and the Materials Site Controller plays a critical role in keeping everything moving. This role sits at the heart of the operation, owning the end‑to‑end materials agenda across the site to ensure the right materials are in the right place, at the right time, to support safe, efficient and uninterrupted production. This is a highly visible role, working closely with Site Leadership, Production, Purchasing, Planning and Group Supply Chain to drive control, accuracy and continuous improvement across materials management.
Part Time Hours
Day Shift Monday – Friday (4 hours per day)
Responsibilities
* Full ownership of site materials planning and control, ensuring continuity of supply to meet production plans
* Managing raw materials, packaging and indirect materials availability in line with demand
* Leading stock management activities including inventory accuracy, stock turns, waste and obsolescence control
* Driving S&OP and MRP discipline at site level, escalating risks and challenges proactively
* Working closely with Procurement and Suppliers to manage service levels, shortages and constraints
* Supporting cost control, working capital targets and budget objectives
* Ensuring all materials processes meet food safety, quality and compliance standards
* Identifying and leading continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen processes, systems and ways of working
* Coaching and developing site materials or planning teams where applicable
* Acting as a key materials SME during audits, product launches and operational change
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a materials, planning or supply chain role within FMCG or food manufacturing
* Strong understanding of MRP, inventory management and production planning
* Ability to work confidently in a fast‑paced, operational environment
* A clear, structured communicator who can challenge constructively and influence at all levels
* Experienced in driving process improvement and operational discipline
* Comfortable using ERP systems and data to drive decision‑making
* A practical, hands‑on approach with the credibility to work on the factory floor
* Passion for getting the fundamentals right while continuously striving to improve
