About the Role
The West Essex Neighbourhood team operates in Harlow, linking closely with partners in health, housing and the voluntary sector. The role involves conducting Care Act assessments, reviews and safeguarding, working with adults aged 18 and above across all specialisms. Responsibilities include mental capacity assessments, adult safeguarding, supporting independence, and building networks to enhance community resilience. You will act as a subject‑matter expert, providing advice and guidance in complex situations, and developing strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community.
About You
To apply you must be a qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration and established experience in Adult Social Care. You should have a comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations and guidance, and be able to chair multi‑agency meetings involving clients, family members, carers and professionals.
* Evidence of continuing professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.
* In‑depth understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages.
* Ability to make clear decisions, highlight and limit potential risks associated with intervention.
* Essential driving licence and vehicle, or alternative means to meet mobility requirements for travel around Essex and beyond.
