As a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer at JLR Solihull, you'll focus on enhancing electrical quality and performance. Be part of a dedicated Electrical Team, driving improvements and resolving electrical system issues.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You will be a key member of a multi-skilled team responsible for improving Electrical RFT (Right First Time) across current and future programs. Your role includes investigating electrical issues, monitoring quality, applying problem-solving methodologies, analyzing data, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within an agile framework.
• Drive electrical quality targets by investigating issues, developing improvements, sharing knowledge, and implementing process changes.
• Lead problem-solving efforts using structured methodologies like 8D to ensure timely and effective corrective actions.
• Conduct electrical investigations to identify root causes related to supplier quality, design, or manufacturing.
• Collaborate with teams such as PVT, CME, Launch, VCATS, Manufacturing, and warranty to improve electrical performance.
• Document issues consistently, support process creation, and promote continuous improvement.
• Work proactively with Launch teams to identify and address challenges during pre-production builds.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Expertise in electrical systems, control systems, and automation is essential. You should be experienced in vehicle networks, architectures, wiring diagrams, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and using diagnostic tools like VCATS. Strong analytical skills, experience with quality tools like 8D, and excellent communication skills are required. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and proficiency in Office applications and data analysis tools are also important.
