We are looking for a new Chief Executive to lead our Credit Union as our current CEO is retiring. The appointed person will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy that meets our aims, serves our nearly 20,000 members, and helps us maintain our track record of growth.
About us:
London Capital Credit Union is a financial services organisation providing affordable savings and loan products. We are based in Archway and operate predominantly across North London and the City.
The Credit Union can trace its roots back to 1962 when it started to provide low-cost loans and secure savings accounts. It is a cooperative created by community members to provide financial services in an ethical and community-focused manner.
Our primary objective is to encourage saving, but we also provide low-cost loans when borrowing is necessary. We are now one of the largest and fastest-growing credit unions in the UK, having grown from around 400 members and £0.5 million in assets in 2006 to nearly 20,000 members with a balance sheet of £24 million at the end of our last financial year. Last year our loan book increased by 17%. We aim to continue our growth while maintaining a sustainable, professional, and ethical business that provides service excellence.
About the role:
Our new Chief Executive will lead our organisation and work closely with the board to oversee, shape, and deliver the long-term strategic vision of the credit union, ensuring business growth and service excellence.
The position will forge effective partnerships with stakeholders outside the organisation to promote our mission and ensure we remain a trusted and valued financial provider.
The role requires a commitment to creating a positive working atmosphere for staff and volunteers, promoting their commitment to delivering credit union objectives and supporting their development.
About you:
We need our new CEO to be a people person with a friendly and empathetic manner, able to develop positive relationships and motivate individuals from diverse backgrounds. We require strong strategic thinking along with operational management and leadership capabilities.
You will have a background in the financial services sector and a strong knowledge of the industry and its regulators. You must meet the Approved Person requirements for a Credit Union Chief Executive regarding the Prudential Regulation Authority and Financial Conduct Authority.
Experience in growing and managing a retail loans portfolio, including effective credit control and managing customer-facing services, is essential.
