Lead Piping Engineer - Full Time & Permanent/Staff Position, Cramlington - Office Based
About the Role
Jackson Hogg is delighted to be recruiting for a highly experienced Lead Piping Engineer to join our client's engineering team based in Cramlington on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers to deliver complex projects on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven leader with strong technical knowledge in piping engineering within the oil & gas sector, with the chance to work on exciting projects within onshore renewable, clean energy sectors too. Key Responsibilities of Lead Piping Engineer

Lead and supervise a team of engineers and designers, ensuring efficient resource allocation and high-quality outputs.
*
Manage and administer piping engineering activities across projects.
*
Control and monitor man-hour spend within the piping discipline.
*
Provide progress reporting for the piping department and input into project planning and CTRs.
*
Deliver technical consultancy on piping-related issues to clients.
*
Oversee preparation, checking, and approval of design and engineering documentation.
*
Implement and maintain best practices in people management, systems, and processes.
*
Contribute to staff development through mentoring, appraisals, and support of graduate training schemes.
*
Support business development activities by providing technical expertise.
We are looking for someone who brings strong leadership qualities and significant technical experience, with the ability to manage teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Requirements for this Lead Piping Engineer Position:

HNC level qualification (or equivalent).
*
Extensive experience in piping engineering within the onshore oil & gas/renewable energy sectors.
*
Proven track record of leading multi-discipline projects.
Desirable requirements for this Lead Piping Engineer position:
*
Degree level qualification in Engineering.
*
Chartered Engineer status.
*
Experience in developing and mentoring engineering teams.
