A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Care Home HR/Receptionist to join our team. Birch Hall Care Centre is a spacious purpose-built care home situated in Darwen housing 80 residents offering a high standard of personalised care, enabling our residents to live a full and satisfying life.
Duties
Working as part of the team you will report to the Care Home Manager, providing HR/reception support. In this busy and varied role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:-
· Process HR-related paperwork, including offer letters, employment contracts and other HR documents as required.
· Manage the HR/Admin Inbox by responding promptly to queries or delegate as appropriate.
· Maintain and update employee records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance
· Assist the Payroll Co-Ordinator with benefits enquiries and help ensure smooth benefits administration, enrolment, and accuracy of data.
· Support the Recruitment process by advertising vacancies on Indeed, screening CVs, scheduling and assisting with interviews.
· Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and induction processes.
· Address employee enquiries and provide initial support for HR-related matters.
· Keep abreast of employment legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance.
· Cover payroll duties during absence.
· Use software to provide senior managers with HR & Training Reports and assist with promoting training compliance
· Perform DBS checks
· Updating the Companies online HR platform
· Answering calls/door
· Checking of Agency Invoices
· Checking of Purchase Orders
· Archiving
· Provide administrative / secretarial support to the Home Manager e.g. typing, filing, dealing with correspondence etc, within given timescales.
· General admin duties including distribution of incoming mail
Skills
Previous HR/Payroll/Reception experience, be a quick learner, good at prioritising tasks, managing workload under pressure and have high attention to detail
Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office packages especially Word and Excel
A genuine interest in working within a caring environment
An appreciation of need for confidentiality
Satisfactory DBS check
Academic qualification requirements are 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grades A-C or equivalent.
