An exciting opportunity for a band 5 nurse to join a dynamic, motivated team of renal nurses who deliver a high standard of specialist outpatient care.
You will be working in a friendly and supportive environment providing comprehensive care and support to dialysis dependent patients
We currently have 12 stations running 07:00 – midnight Monday ,Wednesday and Friday and 07:00 to 19:00 - Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday .

* Set up dialysis machine according to patient prescription
* Band 5 nurses will assess patients before dialysis
* Calculate and set dialysis prescription on the dialysis machine
* Use ANTT technique as per Trust protocol
* Access vascular access and commenced dialysis treatment
* Deliver prescribed IV medication via dialysis machine
* Monitor patients during treatment
* Troubleshoot any alarms during treatment
* Discontinue and disconnect patient at end of dialysis
* Document treatment on CyberREN and other Trust systems
* Clean dialysis area as per Trust protocol
* Collect monthly blood samples
* Check and report results of monthly blood samples
* Work with members of the MDT
* Audit patient outcomes monthly and discuss with patient and MDT

The post holder will be responsible and accountable for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care. Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and undertake delegated tasks from the ward sister/charge nurse. Following successful completion of foundation gateway will be required to take charge of ward/department for a span of duty.
