What you’ll do:
This field-based role offers the chance to make a real impact by driving continuous improvement across our business. Reporting directly to the Head of HSE, you'll be at the forefront of enhancing safety standards and reducing risks through targeted projects. This role emphasizes proactive measures—identifying systemic trends and implementing solutions that address root causes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Collaborating with distribution centres to reduce risks and incident rates, and understanding performance impacts to drive improvements.
* Partnering with retail stores on topics such as safe product storage, handling, and manual handling risk reduction.
* Conducting deep dives into incident data to identify systemic trends and develop effective interventions.
This role is highly colleague-focused. You'll visit sites, listen, and engage with colleagues to understand their concerns. Success depends on consulting, engaging, sharing, and collaborating.
What you'll bring
We're seeking a current HSE Business Partner or Manager ready for a new challenge. You should demonstrate:
* NEBOSH General Certificate, HSE Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* At least 24 months post-qualification experience in a medium-risk business as an HSE Manager or similar role.
* Proven experience in safety culture and behavioral change programs.
* Excellent communication skills, confident in positively challenging the status quo.
* Good time management skills.
* Strong understanding of legal and technical aspects of H&S relevant to Retail and Distribution Centres.
* Experience working in a distribution environment and in a multi-site, fast-paced business is highly beneficial.
What you'll get
We offer opportunities to be yourself and develop your career—whether climbing the ladder or exploring other areas within the group. You'll receive a competitive salary and benefits, including a car or car allowance, pension, BAYE and SAYE schemes, life assurance, and discounts across Travis Perkins and partner companies.
