We are a nurturing, high-quality early years setting based in Islington (N7), offering care and education across three age groups in two well-resourced rooms. Our dedicated team of 12 staff are passionate about supporting each childs development in a warm, inclusive, and stimulating environment. We pride ourselves on fostering a close-knit, collaborative workplace where professional growth and staff wellbeing are valued. Although we do not offer on-site parking, we are easily accessible by public transport, with Caledonian Road Underground Station just a short walk away. The Role
We are seeking an experienced and confident
Room Leader
to oversee one of our age group rooms. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated early years professional to lead and inspire a small team, maintain high standards of care and education, and make a positive impact on childrens development. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning and delivery of creative and developmentally appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework.
Oversee the day-to-day running of the room, ensuring a high-quality learning environment.
Mentor and support nursery practitioners within your team.
Promote childrens learning, safety, and wellbeing through a nurturing, child-centred approach.
Monitor, assess, and track childrens progress, and contribute to individual learning plans.
Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Ensure policies on safeguarding, health & safety, and hygiene are upheld.
Contribute to staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement across the setting.
Essential Skills and Experience:
CACHE Level 3 in Early Years Education or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a nursery setting, with at least 1 year in a senior or leadership role.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.
Clear understanding of safeguarding and health & safety practices.
Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
Proactive, organised, and passionate about delivering high-quality early years education.
Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
