Customer Leakage Technician
Working hours – 37 hours per week (flexible working arrangements will be considered)

Requirement to participate in an out of hours standby rota is required
We’ve amazing opportunity to come and join our team of leakage technicians who are responsible for identifying and locating leaks on our water mains and service pipes using advanced detection techniques, including mobile technology.
As a Leakage Technician your role is crucial to maintaining our customers water supply. You’ll be responsible for conducting a range of leak detection activities to resolve issues promptly. You will whilst provide an exceptional service to our customers, explaining findings and solutions.
We will provide you with training and support to develop in this role. You will also receive a fully equipped van to respond quickly when our analysts identify potential leakage issues across our region. You will be required to work productively and accurately against set targets. At times you will provide face to face leakage assistance to our customers, managing their expectations in line with our policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
This role is both a reactive and proactive role. You’ll assist with planned leakage surveys whilst responding to urgent leak detection needs. As you develop your skills daily, you’ll use techniques like sounding, correlating, and noise logging to accurately identify hidden water leaks in our network. Your expertise will play a key role in maintaining our water supply to ensure minimal disruption for our customers.
We prioritise keeping water flowing and minimising waste, so our leakage technicians are active in all weather conditions and locations, from city centres to rural locations. Water is a 24/7 business, which means our team occasionally work evenings and weekends to ensure timely repairs and maintain customer satisfaction.
Please note, this role comes with a van and fuel card for business use only and the van will be kept at your home location when not in use.
About you
If you have proven experience in delivering outstanding customer service, and strong problem-solving skills then we want to hear from you.
Once trained you will be expected to work independently, walking long distances daily, which requires high level of self-motivation. Our Water Operations Leakage team includes colleagues who have not previously worked in the water industry. A positive attitude and adaptable skill set are essential forthis role.
We are seeking hard-working, flexible, and technically minded individuals who would like a role that offers variety and the opportunity to work outdoors.
You be competent with the use of mobile technology including smart phones/tablet and demonstrate a passion for engaging with customers.
You will need a full UK manual driving licence to enable you to complete this role.
