A specialist SEN school in Erdington, catering to students aged 11-16 with a range of complex learning needs, is seeking a qualified SENCO to join their dedicated team on a part-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a knowledgeable SEN professional who is passionate about inclusive education and is looking to contribute their expertise in a supportive, specialist environment without a full-time commitment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage SEN provision as a Qualified SENCO across the school in Erdington, in line with statutory requirements
* Coordinate and review EHCPs in collaboration with teaching staff, families, and external professionals
* Support teachers with effective strategies and resources for meeting the diverse needs of students
* Ensure accurate SEN record-keeping, monitoring, and reporting
* Work closely with the senior leadership team to drive inclusive practice and continuous improvement
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it)
* Proven experience in a Qualified SENCO role, ideally within a specialist or secondary setting
* Strong knowledge of EHCP processes and current SEN legislation
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
* A commitment to supporting students with complex needs to thrive
