NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) are currently recruiting full and part time Family Nurse posts across Greater Glasgow & Clyde.
The FNP programme is an intensive, preventative, one-to-one home visiting programme developed in the United States of America by Professor David Olds and the University of Colorado, Denver. Across Greater Glasgow and Clyde Family Nurses work alongside eligible young parents during pregnancy until their childs 2nd birthday. It is a highly intensive, complex clinical intervention, with the purpose of achieving three core outcomes:
to improve pregnancy and birth outcomes, through improved prenatal health behaviours;
to improve child health and development, through positive, responsive caregiving; and
to improve the economic stability of the family, through developing their vision and realising their plans for the future.
The Family Nurse Partnership post requirements are
Registered with the NMC on Sub part 1 or Midwifery part of the register
Educated to degree level in a relevant subject
Masters level education or able to demonstrate clinical practice and characteristics required at masters level
All new Family Nurses will have the option to undertake the Professional Diploma in Family Nursing, which on successful completion, will result in the award of 60 Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Level 11 points

The interview process is in two parts and successful applicants will be invited to a client interview and a panel interview.
The successful applicant requires to be available to attend all mandatory dates below, for FNP Education, over an 18-month period. Education is facilitated using a hybrid model of online and face to face education, some of which is residential.
2-6 Mar 26 Pre foundations learning and SQA induction. At site and online.
9-13 Mar 26 Foundations in FNP practice. 5 days/4 nights Residential
5 May 26 MI intermediate in FNP practice. Non residential
2-3 Jun 26 MI advanced in FNP practice. 2 days/1night residential
25 Aug 26 Breastfeeding in FNP practice. Non residential
27-19 Oct 26 Next steps in FNP Practice. 3 days/2 night residential
25-26 Nov 26 PIPE in FNP practice. 2 days/1 night residential
26 Apr 26 28 May 27 DANCE By Distance Education Spread over 5 weeks
24 Aug 27 Introduction to flourishing in FNP practice. Online
6-7 Oct 27 Flourishing in FNP practice 2 days/1 night residential
