We’re growing our team of Platform Engineering Senior DevOps Engineers to support a very large piece of work. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of our automation capabilities and should have strong problem-solving skills with excellent time management and organisational abilities.
As this role supports one of our secure accounts, you should ideally already hold active SC clearance or above and be eligible to pursue DV clearance.
This is an on-site role based in Salisbury or Portsmouth.
What you'll be doing:
1. Designing and developing capabilities using open-source and commercial tooling for use internally and to deliver enhanced capabilities to our customers.
2. Designing and developing integration enablers between multiple systems.
3. Providing thought leadership and 3rd line technical support, mentoring and fault resolution to 1st/2nd line support teams.
4. Identifying opportunities and driving the definition of technical requirements and designs to leverage automation.
5. Defining and embedding standards and best practices and promoting a DevOps mentality.
6. Analysing operational data to support decision-making.
7. What you’ll bring:
8. Experience working within a Linux engineering and automation environment and a working knowledge of DevOps.
9. Enterprise Linux OS (RedHat, CentOS, Rocky, Oracle).
10. DevOps/Automation toolsets including Terraform, Git, Packer, Ansible and Vault.
11. Discipline to follow secure development and deployment best practices.
12. Experience in software development using programming languages such as Python and/or Java.
13. Designing, building and supporting Kubernetes clusters.
14. Practical experience building capabilities in the cloud and on-premise.
