Workday Benefits Consultant (Contract)

Are you a Workday Benefits specialist with strong experience across benefits administration, configuration, and process optimisation? We are seeking a hands-on consultant to support a major global enterprise, helping them maximise the value of Workday’s Benefits module while driving improvements across efficiency, accuracy, and user experience.
The Role:
As a Workday Benefits Consultant, you will work closely with HR, Payroll, Total Rewards, and technical stakeholders to enhance and optimise their Workday Benefits functionality. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will support ongoing transformation and ensure seamless global benefits administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Engagement
* Partner with HR, Payroll, and Technology stakeholders to understand business needs and align them with Workday Benefits capabilities.
* Act as an SME providing guidance on configuration approaches, best practices, and system improvements.
Advisory & Implementation
* Lead Workday Benefits configuration, including plan setup, eligibility, life events, rates, enrolment windows, and dependencies.
* Support annual and mid-year enrolment cycles, including configuration updates and testing.
Process Optimisation
* Analyse existing processes, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and improve benefits administration efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with regional requirements and organisational policies.
System Enhancements
* Support system upgrades, new feature deployment, and global rollouts.
* Build and execute test scripts, manage regression testing, and validate system changes.
Troubleshooting & Support
* Provide hands-on issue resolution, ensuring smooth end-to-end operation of the Workday Benefits module.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on data integrity, integrations, and performance issues.
Key Requirements:
Workday Benefits Expertise
* Extensive experience working with Workday Benefits configuration, optimisation, and administration.
* Strong understanding of benefit plan structure, enrolment processes, life event logic, and global/regional variations.
HR & Benefits Knowledge
* Strong background in HR or Total Rewards functions, with deep knowledge of benefits administration and compliance.
* Experience supporting enterprise-scale or multinational environments.
Technical Proficiency
* Ability to assess system performance, diagnose issues, and recommend improvements.
* Experience working with integrations, testing cycles, and data validation.
Communication & Collaboration
* Strong stakeholder-facing skills with the ability to translate technical detail into business language.
* Confident working across HR, Payroll, IT, and vendor partners.
Contracting Experience
* Previous experience in contract or interim roles within complex environments.
* Proven ability to work autonomously and deliver outcomes within defined timelines.
