Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Staffordshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.
We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Staffordshire.
At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists. This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Referred by local authorities and schools; provide support in educational and social-emotional development
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Deliver engaging sessions that meet needs and advance educational and social-emotional progress
* Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with learners with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other needs
* Experience and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available to obtain at cost)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with right to work in the UK, including for remote/online assignments
It is a strict requirement that you promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.
SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Status
* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service; paid via PAYE
* No set amount of work or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
