About The Role
At Balfour Beatty, we are shaping the future of UK infrastructure through the delivery of some of the country’s most ambitious and technically complex projects. As part of the HS2 programme, we are now looking for a talented and driven Site Engineer to join our team delivering the Head House project in Birmingham. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in a nationally significant scheme that will transform rail travel, improve connectivity, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations. Working within a collaborative and high‑performing delivery team, you will play a key role in ensuring engineering excellence, safety, quality, and programme objectives are achieved throughout construction.
What you'll be doing
* Setting out and surveying works in accordance with design requirements.
* Ensuring all engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.
* Managing quality assurance documentation and inspection records.
* Coordinating subcontractors and supporting site operations teams.
* Assisting with planning and sequencing of works.
* Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress to senior management.
* Supporting compliance with HS2 and Balfour Beatty standards and procedures.
Who we're looking for
* Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
* Strong setting out and surveying capability.
* Experience managing quality documentation and site records.
* Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a fast‑paced construction environment.
* HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
* CSCS card required.
