Job Description
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and technically minded Inside Technical Sales professional to join our clients Internal Sales Department. This is a key role responsible for managing and developing an allocated geographical sales area, providing exceptional customer support, and proactively identifying new business opportunities.
Job Overview:
* As an Inside Technical Sales professional, you will be the primary internal point of contact for customers in your designated area. You’ll work closely with Business Development Managers, Area Sales Managers, and Key Account Managers to ensure enquiries, quotations, and orders are handled swiftly, accurately, and professionally.
* This role requires a strong customer-centric mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to spot commercial opportunities while maintaining high standards of service and technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the business needs of your allocated sales area, while supporting other regions as required, working collaboratively with the wider sales team.
* Act as the first point of contact for all customer communication, ensuring a high level of satisfaction across all interactions.
* Build strong, trusted relationships with customers—making them feel valued while ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
* Handle customer enquiries and complaints with professionalism and accuracy, sharing relevant customer insights internally.
* Manage your own administration, preparing quotations, documentation, and correspondence for both customers and colleagues.
* Collaborate with Inside Commercial Sales to communicate technical discrepancies on customer orders.
* Proactively follow up on quotations and continually explore opportunities for new customer development and value-added sales.
* Develop strong product, application, and market knowledge to improve success rates and support quote-to-cash performance.
* Provide feedback on successful applications and support the replication of best practices regionally.
* Deliver both technical and commercial support to colleagues and customers when required.
* Promote sales growth and profitability across your accounts in line with company targets and personal objectives.
* Work with Engineering and Systems teams to implement successful application solutions within your area.
* Participate in customer visits alongside Account Managers, as well as exhibitions and product presentations.
* Maintain accurate administration and data entry within the CRM system for all sales activities and project opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
* Experience in sales, marketing, or business development—ideally within process automation and control.
* Strong customer focus with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
* Ability to multitask, adapt, and maintain a flexible approach to workload.
* A resilient team player with strong personal drive and commitment.
