Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Design Engineer role
Reporting to the Mechanical Design Engineer you will:
Produce conceptual designs, supported by relevant calculations and analysis.
Manage individual design and mechanical engineering projects from initial design to final commissioning.
Create detailed manufacturing drawings.
Liaise with other engineers and the wider team, workshop colleagues and client representatives throughout the project lifecycle.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
Degree level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or a minimum of HNC level.
Demonstrable experience in a mechanical and manufacturing environment.
Several years of design experience in a diverse client/sector base.
Ability to work on individual projects from initial design to final commissioning.
Experience with 3D CAD packages (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor).
Working knowledge of MathCAD.
Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Personal skills
