Job Description
What you’ll do:
* Deliver programmes and associated projects to advance UK Networks initiatives, ranging from new technologies to retiring legacy systems.
* Manage a programme portfolio of £5m–£50m per annum with complex risks and stakeholder engagement.
* Lead a team of up to eight FTE, defining, managing and delivering Network Engineering Transport and Security cross‑functional programmes.
* Act as bridge between technical delivery teams, risk and compliance functions, and senior leadership.
Responsibilities
* Ensure programmes and projects are established, executed and closed following standard governance.
* Document outputs, analysis, and tools used in project activities.
* Handover deliverables to operations, ensuring skills and knowledge transfer.
* Maintain effective risk mitigation and issue management processes.
* Clarify skill requirements and build a capable programme team.
* Define clear roles, responsibilities and reporting relationships for stakeholders; provide performance feedback.
* Manage delivery scope and resolve deviations.
* Communicate and report accurately and timely to stakeholders, escalating where required.
* Manage the end‑to‑end programme budget and ensure compliance with network and finance processes.
* Line‑manage project managers within the programme.
* Ensure compliance with the Group Integrated Business Planning process for procurement and inventory management.
Qualifications
* Minimum 5–10 years of programme management or relevant experience.
* Experience managing large‑scale programmes with senior stakeholder engagement.
* Understanding of OSS technologies.
* Strong programme governance and control mechanisms to achieve excellent customer outcomes.
* Define scope, business objectives, requirements and deliverables.
* Create WBS dictionary with detailed deliverables, activities and schedule.
* Negotiate with stakeholders.
* Line management of direct and indirect teams including third‑party suppliers.
* Facilitate completion review meetings and leverage programme governance.
