Academics are currently working on behalf of a well-regarded specialist SEN college that is seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Chef. This is a unique dual-role position for someone who can not only cook high-quality meals but also engage with and teach students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook meals daily for staff and students, adhering to dietary and allergy requirements.
* Plan and deliver practical cookery lessons tailored to students with SEN.
* Work closely with teaching and support staff to adapt lessons to meet individual learning plans.
* Encourage student participation in all aspects of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
* Foster a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment.
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years of experience working as a chef.
* Proven experience teaching or working with SEN children.
* Strong understanding of various SEN including autism, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties.
* Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students.
* A relevant teaching or training qualification is desirable but not essential.
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
