We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to lead and manage all aspects of employee relations within the Trust. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for delivering an efficient and high-quality ER service to staff and managers.
Overview:
1. Oversee and manage the Employee Relations team, ensuring performance against agreed service levels.
2. Provide expert guidance on complex casework and ensure compliance with employment law and best practice.
3. Review and update HR policies and procedures regularly.
4. Drive continuous improvement in HR services, processes, and systems for greater efficiency.
Main duties of the job
5. Ensure the day-to-day delivery of a customer-orientated, efficient, end-to-end employment relations service to the Trust, covering all aspects of related HR policies/procedures.
6. Coach and develop the Employment Relations Team to raise collective performance over time and enable in-role progression.
7. Allocate case work to the Employment Relations team in a fair and consistent manner to ensure all casework is progressed in a timely manner and that workload is optimised within the team.
8. Manage own case work responsibilities, including highly complex and sensitive issues, as an integral part of the overall Employee Relations Team. Escalate, by exception, to the Deputy Chief People Officer.
9. Work with managers, staff and Union representatives on the development and promotion of a culture of healthy employee relations and staff involvement.
10. Oversight of the HHFT mediation process, ensuring that the Trust has access to sufficient, trained, mediators to support early resolution of issues.
