Systems Engineer (Systems Performance Performance)
About the Role
We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer/Systems Performance Engineer to join a leading defence engineering organisation. You’ll provide performance prediction and analysis expertise on major defence programmes, supporting the development of advanced systems.
You’ll contribute to projects in the concept, assessment, or demonstration phases, ensuring system performance is accurately understood and optimised as part of the system design process.
The main elements of the role include:
* Plan and conduct technical studies into system performance using complex mathematical models.
* Analyse system-level data to assess key performance indicators such as range and terminal accuracy.
* Collaborate with domain experts in aerodynamics, propulsion, lethality, guidance, control, and navigation to understand and influence system design.
* Present performance results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Support the development of training materials for new engineers.
Your experience:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Experience running and analysing complex simulations.
* Competent in MATLAB (and preferably Simulink or similar tools).
* Interest in mathematical modelling, data analysis, and system behaviour prediction.
* Awareness of core physical principles (aerodynamics, propulsion, guidance, and control).
* Security Clearance: Applicants must be sole British citizens due to security, and able to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
This role is an onsite position, and all candidates will be working onsite for 5 days a week.
