GSL Education’s North Yorkshire branch is seeking an SEN Teacher for a Special Educational Needs School located in York, North Yorkshire, starting in September 2024.
SEN Teacher Responsibilities:
* Teaching students with special needs on a 1:1 or group basis.
* Identifying students in crisis and following the Behaviour Support System.
* Marking, assessing work, and tracking pupil progress.
* Adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
* Collaborating with Teaching Assistants on activities aligned with the curriculum.
* Recognizing warning signs and triggers.
* Following Education Health Care Plans to meet outcomes.
* Experience with Wellbeing and Mind Teams (WIMT) is advantageous.
* Experience with Educational Psychology services, Paediatricians, CAMHS, or Therapists is beneficial but not essential.
SEN Teacher Requirements:
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* At least 6 months experience with special needs or alternative provisions.
* Experience teaching students with Autism or specialization in Autism.
* Experience working with Educational Psychology services, CAMHS, or Therapists.
* Ability to engage pupils creatively and build rapport.
* Enthusiastic, motivated, and leading by example.
* Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered with the Update Service or willing to obtain one through GSL Education.
