Location: Winchester, VA
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 plus an exceptionally lucrative bonus plan.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Lead large-capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects ranging from $2MM to $10MM+ from concept development through commissioning and operational handover.
* Manage project stage-gate processes, including business case development, NPV analysis, risk assessment, and change control.
* Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering activities (process, automation/controls, utilities, facilities, and construction trades).
* Develop and execute procurement strategies, including contractor prequalification, bid evaluations, and vendor selection.
* Oversee construction management activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, schedule, and cost requirements.
* Develop and execute commissioning, qualification, and start-up plans to ensure performance targets are achieved.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, environmental, and safety standards throughout project execution.
* Manage project closeout activities, including as-built documentation, O&M manuals, training, spare parts, and formal handover to Operations and Maintenance teams.
* Provide regular project status reporting to corporate and site leadership, including schedule, cost, risk, and mitigation plans.
* Travel as required to support project execution and site coordination.
* Mentor and develop others in project management best practices and standards.
* Promote personal and company image throughout the community.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
* 10+ years of experience managing capital projects within food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing environments.
* Demonstrated experience managing contractors, vendors, and construction activities.
* Strong working knowledge of project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
* Experience researching potential expansions and industries.
* Experience opening new product lines and equipment.
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
* OSHA 30 or equivalent construction safety training.
* Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
