Kingsway Community Primary School

SENCO

Part time (3 days per week), permanent

Grade: Main to upper pay scale + TLR 2a £3,527 (pro rata)

Start date: 13th April 2026 (flexibility may be possible for the right candidate)

Location: Kingsway Primary School, Baker Avenue, Leamington Spa, CV31 3HB

Every role at Kingsway Community Primary School supports children to thrive. This one transforms their school experience.

We are a school that champions every child. We celebrate difference, work closely with families, and believe that belonging is the foundation of learning.

We are looking for a SENCO who believes that inclusion isn’t a checklist — it’s a culture. Someone who sees potential where others see barriers, who listens deeply, and who understands that the right support at the right time can change the entire trajectory of a child’s life.

Responsibilities

* You’ll play a key role in building our new Inclusion Team from the ground up, working closely with our newly appointed Deputy Headteacher and the Inclusion Lead to shape the future of SEND provision.
* As the lead for SEND across the school, you’ll line manage our two Inclusion Assistants and ensure every child with additional needs receives an ambitious, personalised education.
* You will take the lead on coordinating support for pupils with medical needs, ensuring care plans are robust, understood, and implemented with dignity, clarity and compassion.
* You will fulfil the statutory role of Designated Teacher for Looked After and Previously Looked After Children, championing their progress, wellbeing and sense of belonging across the school.

What our pupils say

“If someone is having a hard day, we would like our SENCO to help with their difficulties and calm them down.” — Year 3

“We would like our SENCO to have a calm voice, be helpful and kind and respect everyone's opinions and needs.” — Year 5

What Kingsway and Community Academies Trust can offer you

* A genuinely supportive leadership team that values your expertise
* Time to lead – not just manage paperwork
* A culture where inclusion is lived, not laminated
* A commitment to your development, including NASENCO support if needed
* A warm, collaborative staff team who care deeply about children
* Pupils who will make you smile every day
* Professional networking across the trust and beyond
* A supportive school and trust that highly value their employees
* Amazing children and families who value relationships and partnerships with the school and its community
* A competitive salary and pension (Local Government Pension Scheme)
* An Employee Assistance Programme and employee benefits package
* Wellbeing initiatives
* Flexible working opportunities
* Access to the Vivup benefits portal
