YEAR 3 TEACHING ASSISTANT - PRIMARY SCHOOL - SHEFFIELD
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a two-form entry primary school in Sheffield seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 class on a full-time basis.
This is a long-term position starting as soon as possible, with the opportunity to become a permanent role for the right candidate.
About the role
You will be working closely with the class teacher to support learning across the curriculum, with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting whole-class learning and classroom routines
* Delivering small group interventions in reading and maths
* Providing 1:1 support for a pupil who requires additional help to stay on task
* Assisting with behaviour management in line with the school’s policies
* Helping to create a structured and positive learning environment

* Strong focus on pupil progress and consistent classroom routines
* Easily accessible from across Sheffield
The ideal candidate
* Has previous experience working in a primary school setting
* Is confident supporting KS2 pupils
* Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* Is reliable, calm, and able to take initiative in the classroom
* Has a good understanding of safeguarding and behaviour expectations
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
