The company is a leading provider of technical services worldwide. It provides a broad range of testing,
inspection and certification services to ensure the safety, reliability and regulatory compliance of engineering assets throughout their lifecycle. The successful Inspection Engineer will experience a broad spectrum of national and international challenges, all of which are associated with safety, efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspection and written schemes: prepare and review written schemes of examination (WSEs)
* Non-destructive testing (NDT): perform basic NDT techniques (ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and dye penetrant inspection (DPI))
* Reporting and repairs: produce clear inspection reports, including photographs, assessments of deterioration and sentencing of defects
* Engineering support: participate in risk-based inspection (RBI) studies
* Coordinate third-party NDT providers for advanced or specialised requirements
* Review design calculations and coordinate repairs where needed
* Provide technical support to clients, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
Key Requirements
* Education: Higher National Certificate (HNC)/degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent). This is an essential requirement
* United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) RG2: In-service inspection of pressure systems. This is an essential requirement
* Experience: a minimum of five years in engineering disciplines, particularly in the in-service inspection of pressure systems
* Preferred expertise: background in mechanical engineering within the chemical or oil & gas sectors is desirable
* Additional experience: previous management experience is a bonus.
