Assistant Curator, Eighteenth‑Century British Art – Tate Britain
This role supports Tate’s mission to enhance public understanding of British art from the sixteenth century to the present. The assistant curator will focus on the 1700‑1830 period, researching, planning and delivering exhibitions, managing collection displays and acquisitions, writing interpretative and website texts, and organising or participating in research events.
Responsibilities
* Conduct scholarly research on eighteenth‑century British art.
* Plan, develop and deliver exhibitions and collection displays.
* Assist with the acquisition of historic British artworks.
* Write exhibition notes, catalogue entries and web content.
* Organise and participate in research events and public programming.
Qualifications
* Strong enthusiasm and knowledge of eighteenth‑century British art.
* Demonstrated research and organisational skills.
* Experience working with art collections or exhibitions (desired).
* Commitment to diversifying British art histories.
Salary & Working Hours
* Salary: £32,674 per annum
* Frequency: Monthly – Salaried
* Working Hours: 36 per week
* Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time
