An new opportunity for a retail merchandise planner, has come up to join a women's fashion retailer based in Australia. The role based in the head office will be managing and developing one of the womenswear departments making sure profits are maximised by range planning, financial analysis and stock/supply management. The role: • Manage and develop junior members of the merchandising team • Work closely with buyers, designers and other departments to build a profitable range • Manage the sign off process, looking at open to buy and margins • Ensure stock is allocated correctly to stores • Maximise profit and minimise risk through stock management and realistic sales forecasts • Regularly review sales forecasts, and sales patterns • Regular warehouse visits and work with analysts The candidate: • Previous experience as planning / merchandising manager within a UK or European retailer • Experience with womenswear apparel from a retail head office • Strong negotiation and influencing skills • Team management experience • Commercial with a good understanding of trends • Strong financial and commercial acumen This role comes with a good salary in Australian dollars, plus relocation, temporary accommodation and visa support.
