The Role
Working as part of the Operational Technology (OT) department, the Project Engineer will support the organisation with the delivery of ICA/ICS projects across water production, distribution, and storage facilities. The role involves planning, coordination, and delivery of ICA upgrade projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to safety and industry standards. The Project Engineer will also manage a Supporting Operations Technician, providing technical guidance, troubleshooting, and support to ensure effective maintenance and operational activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage end-to-end delivery of ICA upgrade projects, including project plans, budgets, and schedules.
* Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project success.
* Maintain compliance with electrical and ICA standards, and contribute to asset performance improvements.
* Support and manage the Operations Technician, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and safety standards.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovative solutions.
* Contribute to developing company-wide ICA standards for consistency and best practices.
What You Need
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation, or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience in project management within the water industry or similar sector, with knowledge of PLC, SCADA, telemetry, and control systems. Understanding of health and safety regulations, including CDM. Experience managing technical staff or operational support is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong project management, technical knowledge in ICA and electrical systems, leadership skills, excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Key Relationships:
The role involves working closely with the Senior EICA Manager, Operations and Maintenance teams, Health and Safety team, external contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. A full UK driving licence is essential for regional travel.
