Role Overview Seeking an experienced, driven International Business Development Manager to take innovative safety and technical products into new markets outside the UK. This person will lead strategy, build partnerships, win new customers globally, and act as the face of the business in international safety, energy, and major hazards sectors. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies for international regions (e.g. Europe, Middle East, Asia, etc.) for related software and consultancy offerings. Identify and secure new business opportunities: lead generation, prospecting, nurturing, and closing deals with international clients in sectors such as oil & gas, offshore, wind, chemicals, major hazard industries. Build and manage relationships with distributors, partners, operators, safety engineering firms, and government/regulatory bodies in target markets. Work with the product, engineering, and customer success teams to tailor propositions for local markets (e.g. localization, regulatory compliance, risk profiles). Represent the company at international conferences, trade shows, safety forums, and workshops to raise brand awareness and generate leads. Develop and negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and ensure profitability while balancing competitive considerations. Provide market intelligence: track international competitors, regulatory changes, safety / AI trends, and report back to inform strategy and product development. Coordinate with marketing to localize campaigns, content, case studies, and collateral for target regions. Hit revenue targets, track KPIs, forecast and report performance regularly. Key Requirements Significant experience (e.g. 5‑10 years) in business development / sales in B2B, ideally with SaaS or technical / safety / engineering software products. Prior experience in international markets: opening new territories, understanding cross‑border sales, dealing with regulatory / compliance issues in safety or related sectors. Strong understanding of process safety, risk assessment, and ideally familiarity with the challenges faced by offshore, energy, or major hazard industries. Being able to speak to safety engineering workflows is a plus. Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to develop trust with technical stakeholders (engineers, safety managers, regulators). Strategic thinker with ability to plan, execute initiatives, adapt to different market needs and cultures. Self‑starter, comfortable doing both high‑level strategy and hands‑on selling / outreach. Comfortable with travel and flexible time zones. Degree in engineering, safety, business, or equivalent experience. Additional credentials in safety/risk/standards desirable.
