Job Description
AECOM is looking for a Communications Coordinator for its Enterprise Capabilities (EC) team. The role reports to the Communications Manager and can be based in Manchester or London, with flexible hybrid remote options. Occasional travel to the London office in Aldgate will be required.
Enterprise Capabilities (EC) is a business group within AECOM that partners with regional and global project teams to provide technical expertise, accelerate delivery, and maintain competitiveness.
As a Communications Coordinator, you will support the day‑to‑day communications needs of the EC team, drafting internal communications, managing support requests, and collecting project and people stories for internal promotion.
Responsibilities
* Create and distribute internal communications by building, targeting, testing, and issuing newsletters and messages using Poppulo.
* Develop and manage internal content, applying strong editorial judgment to ensure clarity and engagement.
* Maintain and enhance the company intranet, ensuring content is accurate, relevant, and continuously improved.
* Oversee key communication channels across the organization, including manager‑focused communications.
* Research and develop internal stories by engaging with stakeholders and teams across the organization, then write, edit, and proofread articles that communicate key messages in a clear, compelling way.
* Support the planning and delivery of internal communications campaigns by drafting content, coordinating with teams and ensuring timely execution across channels.
* Support the delivery of internal events, including Town Halls and other employee engagement activities.
* Ensure effective message reach, leveraging strategies to connect with target audiences.
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to provide tailored communications support and guidance.
Qualifications
Must possess a bachelors degree in communications, English, marketing, journalism or related discipline plus up to two (2) years of professional corporate communications‑related experience, preferably in a global, multi‑site company or with equivalent education and experience.
* Strong written and oral communications skills, including copyediting.
* Ability to synthesize complex materials and craft creative, persuasive language and compelling messaging for a variety of global audiences.
* Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy, completeness and thoroughness of all work.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi‑task and work effectively on a variety of projects concurrently in a demanding, deadline‑driven environment.
* Proven ability to ensure accuracy, completeness and thoroughness of all work products.
* Self‑starter capable of assuming responsibility for several tasks at once.
* Project management and organizational skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. SharePoint and Poppulo or other email newsletter platforms preferred.
