Job overview
Bolton Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) provide multidisciplinary assessment, treatment, and care for individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems.
The service is available to residents of Bolton, aged 16 to 70 years, with diagnosed functional mental health conditions, including:
* Severe Affective Disorder
* Complex Personality Disorder
* Autism Spectrum Conditions
* ADHD
Main duties of the job
Bolton has two CMHTs covering North and South Bolton, determined by GP practice populations and reviewed periodically based on demographic and referral patterns.
The North Bolton CMHT serves patients from the following GP practices:
* Halliwell Surgery
* Burnside Surgery
* Waters Meeting Health Centre
* Pike View Health Centre
* Mandalay Medical Centre
* Astley Centre
* Market Surgery
The caseload for each Adult Psychiatrist, including this role, is approximately 30,000 residents, considering factors like morbidity and social deprivation.
The caseload for the North Bolton CMHT is approximately 800–900 patients, shared between two psychiatrists. The post-holder can expect to manage:
* 350–400 patients under Care Programme Approach (CPA) with a care coordinator
* 50–80 outpatient-only patients not on CPA
* 10–15 patients under Community Treatment Orders
Outpatient clinics are based at Bentley House in Wigan, with an expected referral rate of 12 new patients per month. The clinic structure may include one new patient and four follow-up patients per clinic, with future development of emergency slots.

* MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
* Specialist Register
* GMC registration
* Approved Clinician status
