Research Nurse – North Bristol NHS Trust
We are looking for an experienced Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our High Impact (HIGH) research team based at Southmead Hospital.
As a Research Nurse you will support a portfolio of both commercial and non‑commercial research studies, from screening and recruitment to data entry and patient assessments.
Job Overview
Fixed term contract in line with current research funding available. The role is held for the duration of the current study period and may not be extended beyond the funding period.
Key Responsibilities
* Screen and recruit patients to a range of studies and coordinate logistics for patient visits.
* Enter and manage research data on study databases; maintain accurate Investigator site file.
* Monitor patients for adverse events and report them in a timely manner.
* Work closely with senior research nurses and the Research and Development department to manage workload, study progress and personal development.
Essential Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse with current live registration (RGN).
* Significant post registration experience in extended nursing roles.
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, including report writing.
* Meticulous attention to detail and evidence of planning and problem‑solving.
* Confident in IV administration, cannulation and venepuncture.
Desirable Qualifications
* Degree level education in nursing or a health related subject.
* Previous experience using research databases and meticulous data entry skills.
* Recent research work experience.
* Full UK driving licence.
Personal Qualities
* Flexibility of working days and times to fit service needs; punctual and reliable.
* Interest in research and willingness to learn about the research process.
* Full UK driving licence.

The successful applicant(s) will normally commence at the minimum of the scale unless they have previous NHS service at the same band. Progression through the scale is by annual increments.
