Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Taxi Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. This role involves transporting passengers safely and efficiently across various locations, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant journey for all clients. Applicants should have relevant experience in commercial driving and be capable of handling the responsibilities associated with passenger transport.
Duties
* Safely operate a taxi vehicle to transport passengers to their destinations in a timely manner
* Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey
* Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle, including regular checks on tyres, oil, and brakes
* Navigate using GPS or traditional maps to determine the most efficient routes
* Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about fares, routes, and local attractions when necessary
* Handle cash or electronic payments accurately and issue receipts as required
* Comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations at all times
* Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management for appropriate action
* Assist with loading or unloading luggage or heavy items when necessary, demonstrating physical capability for heavy lifting
Qualifications
* Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record
* Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is preferred
* Strong driving skills with knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations
* Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with passengers
* Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and recognise potential issues
* Physical capability for heavy lifting when required
* Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing high-quality service
* Previous experience in passenger transport or taxi services is advantageous but not essential
