Coordinate with the Primary Health Care Team.
Work with departments at University Hospitals Plymouth, e.g., Pediatric Department, Neonatal Outreach, Emergency Department, Safeguarding Children’s Office.
Engage with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
Coordinate with Midwifery services.
Collaborate with Education departments, e.g., Plymouth University, Professional Training & Development.
Work with Schools, Nurseries, and Children’s Centres.
Professional Duties & Responsibilities:
Practice principles of Community Public Health Nursing as per NMC competencies.
Assess health needs through surveillance and assessment.
Promote health awareness, strategic leadership, and health protection.
Influence policies affecting health, including quality and risk management, policy, and strategic development.
Facilitate health-promoting activities, develop services, and work with communities and schools.
Work effectively amid unpredictable work patterns and frequent interruptions.
Attend court when required to give evidence.
Manage change processes affecting community service delivery.

Ensure equipment used in school nursing is maintained.
Participate in supervision and management activities, including recruitment, performance reviews, and managing leave and disciplinary issues.
Supervise and facilitate student placements.

Person Specification Qualifications Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Certificate, Diploma, or Degree.
NMC Registration.
Registered Nurse Prescriber with current NMC registration.
Experience Experience working with children, young people, and families.
Experience with complex families and child protection concerns.
Ability to work effectively in multi-agency settings.
Knowledge Knowledge of current health issues affecting children and families.
Familiarity with the Healthy Child Program, Framework for Assessment, and Child Protection.
