Role Summary
A growing insurer is looking to appoint a Senior Claims Handler to support a broad and varied claims portfolio across complex commercial lines. Working within a close-knit team, the role will combine hands‑on claims handling with oversight of third‑party administrators and key stakeholder management across the business. This position offers strong long‑term progression potential, including the opportunity to help shape and eventually lead an in‑house claims function as the business continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a varied portfolio of complex claims across areas including Professional Indemnity, Accident & Health, and Construction All Risk, giving you exposure to diverse and technically challenging work
* Oversee relationships with TPAs, panel firms, and service providers, allowing you to develop broader operational and stakeholder management experience
* Handle referrals above delegated authority and contribute to resolution strategies on higher‑value and more complex matters
* Work closely with underwriters, actuaries, finance teams, and senior leadership, increasing your visibility across the wider business
* Support claims process improvement initiatives and contribute to the future development of an in‑house claims function
* Produce clear reporting, reserve recommendations, and claims analysis to support business decision‑making
Requirements
* At least 5 years’ claims handling experience
* Experience handling claims within one or more of the following areas: Professional Indemnity, Accident & Health, or Construction All Risk
* Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload within a fast‑paced environment
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Experience working with TPAs, brokers, panel firms, or outsourced claims providers would be advantageous
* Comfortable balancing technical claims work with operational and administrative responsibilities where required
