Full-time role, 52 weeks/37.5 hours per week Closing deadline: Midnight 2 June 2025 Purpose of the role Main responsibilities To provide professional management support in order to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly and efficiently. To carry out the installation, configuration, maintenance and documentation of hardware, software, and networks. Ensure the security of IT systems and data, implementing best practices and protocols. To complete the annual Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. Create and maintain detailed documentation of technical issues and solutions. Work collaboratively with the organisations external IT partner, Jisc, and network with the IT departments of other specialist colleges and members of IT SysMan to ensure best practice. To provide training and guidance to end users. To operate an end user support desk ticketing system. Lead on IT projects and quality improvement plan, including system upgrades and new technology implementations. To manage the cloud telephony system. Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems. To develop and report on a monthly set of appropriate IT related KPIs. To manage the annual IT budget. Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective solutions. To ensure that effective IT continuity and data recovery plans are in place. To promote and implement the highest data protection standards. General responsibilities Working according to the policies and guidelines of the Organisation.
