Location: Axminster, Devon
Contract: Full-time, long-term (with potential to go permanent)
Pay: Paid to scale (M1-UPS, depending on experience)
Start Date: 20th April 2026
Prospero Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary School Teacher to join one of our supportive partner primary schools in the Axminster area. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire and motivate pupils within a friendly and community-focused school setting.
The Role
1. Teaching a Primary class (year group can be matched to experience and preference)
2. Planning and delivering engaging, creative lessons in line with the national curriculum
3. Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
4. Assessing, tracking and supporting pupil progress
5. Collaborating with colleagues, support staff and parents to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
6. Contributing to wider school life, including extracurricular activities and events
The Ideal Candidate
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
8. Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
9. Passion for teaching and supporting young learners
10. Effective behaviour management and strong classroom presence
11. Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
12. Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
