The Team
The Older Persons Team is part of Gateshead Council’s Neighbourhood, Housing and Homelessness section. We are a mobile-based team covering sheltered schemes across Gateshead.
Managed by the Older Persons Housing Manager, supported by Older Persons Housing Officers. They oversee a team including Mobile Sheltered Scheme Officers, Sheltered Scheme Officers, and Extra Care Managers, supporting 1,400 residents.
About the Role
* Promote the health and wellbeing of residents through support planning and risk assessments.
* Ensure sheltered schemes are safe and secure by following health and safety procedures.
* Maintain accurate records and administration systems, producing necessary documentation for performance management.
* Respond to emergencies on-site and conduct home visits.
* Coordinate and develop social activities to encourage tenant participation.
* Check and update records and equipment as directed.
* Collaborate with Gateshead Council’s Care Call team and other agencies to deliver quality services for older persons.
* Work closely with partners and building stakeholders to ensure service quality.
* Perform other duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
